Our Scary Trip

Well after a conference for Pinnacle on Saturday, Mark, Ethan and I were supposed to immediately begin our drive to Virginia. We wanted to beat the storms we knew would be hitting northern Utah. But as soon as we began driving, we had problem after problem. Our tarp covering our things began flying up and the snow was getting our things wet. So we had to keep stopping and try to fix that and make it stay down. Then after about four times of stopping we were right outside of Park City and Mark was driving very slowly up a steep hill. We were obviously driving on snow and I was playing Peak a boo with Ethan when all the sudden we began spinning out of control and it seemed like it was happening all so fast, yet happening in slow motion. Hard to understand I know. But as we were spinning, I had a feeling of peace come over me and something told me that we would be fine and we wouldn't hit the cement wall. As we were spinning I put my hand on Marks shoulder and said 'we will be okay, don't worry' because he looked very frightened. The truck was turned all the way backward on the side of the road facing the opposite direction. It was a helpless feeling for a few seconds as I saw the other cars and semis drive by us in the opposite direction. We said a prayer and there was a long break in the road of cars traveling by, so we began driving again even slower and got off at our next exit which was Park City. We got stuck in the middle of the road trying to make it to our motel room and that was kind of scary. It was something that made me think of snow completely differently. I am just so grateful that we are alive. I know it is Heavenly Father that blessed us and he is why we are still here today. So many bad thaings could have happened on that road we were attemting to travel on that day.

But after we stopped spinning on the icy road I looked over at Ethan and he was still playing Peek-a-boo with me. He hadn't even noticed. Or he knew that we would be fine. The vail is so thin for the children like him and I am sure He knew Heavenly Father was there with us. So now we are home and safe. We will be beginning our trip tomorrow.
